Greetings golfers,
We would like to start the newsletter by apologising to Eamonn McGrath, as when we reporting his victory in the competition we put his name down as Smith. No idea where that came from so sorry Eamonn, obviously a lapse of concentration there!
Course Closed
You're probably aware that for the last week the course has been closed nearly all the time. We were open on Monday then closed again for the rest of the time. Hopefully we're open again soon! However, don't let this stop you from grabbing a bargain in the January Stock Clearance Sale!! We're open as usual.
Cost Price Sale!
As we've got all the new stock for 2016 coming in over the next couple of months, and we only have a small shop, we need to make some room! As a result, everything must go!
Pretty much everything left in the shop is on sale at cost price. This includes shoes, clubs, bags and all clothing and accessories. Don't miss out as the sale will only run through January and whilst stock lasts.
This is also a chance to mention the new stock coming in. We've got clothing from Daily Sports, Green Lamb and Foot Joy all on the way, and not to mention the new clubs coming in March which we are really excited about. Be on the lookout because you're not going to want miss out.
A Night with The Professionals
On Friday 29th January we are having our annual professionals evening. The night will commence at 7.30pm with food available between 6 and 7. The main event will be split into two parts:
1. 'Making you a better golfer'
2. 'Golf General Knowledge'
The night costs £10 and you can sign up for it at the shop, food beforehand is extra and is arranged with the bar and catering staff. The price includes a drink, nibbles and entry into the prize draw which will be drawn on the night.
Dress - Smart Casual.
Finally, we have some sad news from 3 celebrities from my youth. Ed Stewart an iconic radio presenter, who I was only listening to on Christmas day, David Bowie whose music I never really understood. Also Christy O'Connor Jnr, a former Ryder Cup hero, European Tour and Senior Tour veteran, and pioneer of golf in Ireland, has died aged 67. O'Connor Jnr is best known for hitting one of the most famous shots in Ryder Cup history - a two-iron approach to the 18th green at The Belfry in 1989 which came to rest four feet from the hole, helping Tony Jacklin's team retain the cup courtesy of a 14-14 tie.
