On Saturday, 16th January, we had a 4BBB Stableford Competition. We had 13 teams in total with some decent scores in, considering there were only 14 holes open. It was very tight at the top of the pack as well, Steve Kimber and Steve Cheetham who carded a 33. Narrowly ahead of them were Rob Thorneycroft and Charles Cornish who managed 34 points. Gary Titchen and Alan Hare also managed 34 points and won the competition by beating 2nd place on a card play-off. Well done to all the winners in Saturdays comp.
Saturday's competition counted towards the Winter Order of merit. The order of merit has now reached its half way point, with 5 comps having been played and 5 more to go.
This means there is still plenty of comps left for you to climb up the table and take the prizes at the end!
Here is how the top of the table is looking at the moment.
Cost Price Sale!
As we've got all the new stock for 2016 coming in over the next couple of months, and we only have a small shop, we need to make some room! As a result, everything must go!
Pretty much everything left in the shop is on sale at cost price. This includes shoes, clubs, bags and all clothing and accessories. Don't miss out as the sale will only run through January and whilst stock lasts.
This is also a chance to mention the new stock coming in. We've got clothing from Daily Sports, Green Lamb and FootJoy all on the way, and not to mention the new clubs coming in March which we are really excited about. Be on the lookout because you're not going to want miss out.
As I am sure you're aware the course has been shut for about 2 weeks, with exception for the odd day or two. We re-opened again on Saturday for the competition. It was just our luck that on Saturday night it decided to snow properly for the first time this winter! As a result the course was closed again until Tuesday. But we are open now! However, we are on temporary greens all round. The reason for this is there is a layer of frost underneath the surface. If the greens get damaged whilst they are frosty it is very hard to repair the damage. This is precaution we have had to take to make sure the greens are at their best come the season. Let's hope the bad weather holds off so we can keep the course open for the rest of the winter. Trolley ban is still in place until further notice.
Jamie's Finger
Ryder Cup star and Prestbury member Jamie Donaldson has suffered a potentially severe finger injury following a mishap with a chainsaw. The Welshman, who claimed the decisive point when Europe defeated the United States in September 2014, posted a graphic photo on Twitter of what seems to be a laceration to the little finger on his left hand.
It is not yet known whether Donaldson hacked off the finger completely, although the image shows he required multiple stitches. Let's hope he makes a speedy recovery back onto the tour!
