Online Booking

Prestbury has finally entered the 21st century!

For the Captain's Bell on 27th August we are running a pilot to get people ready.

You will be able to book at start time on the PSI in the foyer from 6.30pm on Saturday, you will then be sent an email to confirm your booking. It is very simple to do so don't worry that you won't be able to work it out.

Alternatively you can also book a start time from home on www.howdidido.com.

We will also be sending out emails on Friday afternoons, the day before a Saturday competition, to inform you of your start time.

You can put two other names down as well as yourself. Please check your playing partners can make it before putting them down!!

It feels good to finally have the club online!

Competition news

On Saturday the gents played in a Coronations Foursomes Competition

In 3rd place we had David Murray and Austin McBride with a very respectable 71.5 nett. This was very narrowly beaten by Bill Seddon and Scott Straughan who scored a nett 71.

But way out in front and looking very happy to be winning in the picture, with a fantastic score of nett 66 was Fred Bridge and Nick Wood.

The following Tuesday we had the ladies playing in Mr Captain's Prize on what was a glorious day for golf with the course in fantastic condition.

Linda Buckley
, our lady president, came in third place with 35 points.

A further 4 shots ahead of her was Ellen Cail with a very good score of 39 points. But out in front with an impressive 40 points was Olivia Naden

Here she is pictured with her winner's prize after winning the competition. Well done Olivia!

Finally, on Sunday, the Gents Captain's team played against the lady Captain's team in a very competitive match. The ladies team came out on top this year in a 3(1/2) - 2(1/2) victory. Very well done ladies! Gents - looks like you need some more practice!

Well done to all our winners in last week's competitions!

New Motocaddy Trolley - Motocaddy S1 DHC

- NEW downhill control
- NEW electronic parking brake
- NEW QUIKFOLD mechanism
- NEW soft-touch ergonomic handle
- Nine speed settings
- Speed indicator
- Battery indicator
- NEW streamlined battery tray
- NEW low-profile wheels
- NEW anti-clog front

We've recently acquired Motocaddy's latest trolley the S1 DHC. The DHC stands for downhill control which is great for undulating courses, such as ours.

The additional 'DHC' (Downhill Control) functionality means that your trolley will maintain a constant speed whilst travelling down hills - even on the steepest of slopes. The S1 DHC can also boast an easy-to-use electronic parking brake. It also looks fantastic; it is without a doubt the best trolley we've had in the shop.

Here are a couple of videos of Joe showing the capabilities of the trolley in action.

New Daily Sports

We have just recently got in the newest daily sports range for Autumn 2016. We've got polo shirts, wind proofs, shorts, trousers, pullovers, gloves, hats.. well just about everything you need to be wearing the latest in golf fashion.

We get the daily sports range in every season and it always seems to be the most popular, so make sure you get don't quick before we sell out of the new shirt in the size you want!

One of the best garments we've got in is the new trousers. Soft to the touch, water-repellent and wind safe too, without being heavy to wear. The fleece backed fabric is extremely breathable so your legs stay nice and toasty, without overheating. Theses trousers are perfect for autumn golf in Prestbury.

The Ryder Cup

The 9 spaces for Europe's Ryder Cup have now been filled and now the rest of the picks are down to Captain Darren Clarke. Fitzpatrick took the last European place at the weekend in a relatively inexperienced Ryder Cup team, with 5 of the 9 players having not represented Europe before. The team is as follows:

1. Rory McIlroy
2. Danny Willett
3. Henrik Stenson
4. Chris Wood
5. Sergio Garcia
6. Justin Rose
7. Rafa Cabrera Bello
8. Andy Sullivan
9. Matt Fitzpatrick
10. WILDCARD
11. WILDCARD
12. WILDCARD

Now who do you think deserves to take the last 3 spots? I would take Westwood and Kaymer. Kaymer seems certain to make the side. Having been relatively close to qualifying, the case is obvious and of all those with Ryder Cup experience who are relying on a selection, he has been comfortably the most consistent this season. His performances at Gleneagles and Celtic Manor, particularly in the singles, deserve to be considered important factors and while he needed to show something to be given the benefit of the doubt, he has done so thanks to last week's top-five finish. Knox would be unfortunate to miss out but should've taken up European Tour membership earlier, which would've enabled him to avoid this scenario. However, for what it's worth I believe Clarke will be inclined to select Knox unless either Donald or McDowell can contend at The Barclays this week.

Pros news

Finally, the newest member of the Summerfield family turned 11 weeks today!
