New Lady President
As you may have heard we have a new Lady President. Elsa Andrew has taken over from Linda Buckley as our new Lady President.
We would like to thank Linda for all the work she has put in over the last year and we are sure Elsa will do just as good a job. Best of luck to both ladies from all the guys in shop.
Club Competitions
Just the one competition to report on this week as the men had a competition on Saturday. A lot of the men were in fine form and some great scores didn't even get in the prizes. In 3rd place we had Eamon McGrath and Brian Purves who had a great round and scored 45 points. Richard Johnson and Garry English did even better and score 47 points, but this was still only good enough for 2nd place. In 1st place with an incredible 48 points were Mel Williams and Ian Rennison. Some fantastic scoring from the gents on Saturday and this was all very tricky temp greens! Well done gents on a great day!

World Cup of Golf
Over the weekend we had the world cup of golf. Denmark's Kjeldsen and Olesen dominated the Tournament whilst England's Chris Wood and Andy Sullivan put in a fairly tame performance up until the last day. Denmark fought off a three-pronged attack to win golf's World Cup at Kingston Heath on Sunday. Soren Kjeldsen and Thorbjorn Olesen, who was in great form, held their nerve after a four-shot overnight lead was threatened by China, France and Sweden. The pair combined superbly in the better-ball format for a closing 6-under 66 to finish on 20-under 268, four shots clear of France (63), China (65) and the United States (66) in a three-way tie for second.
In other tour news, Tiger Woods says he is setting up for "phase two" of his life as he returns to the PGA Tour for the first time in 15 months at the Hero World Challenge. The 40-year-old, who has fallen to 898th in the world, will take part in the 18-man tournament in the Bahamas, which begins on Thursday. Woods has not played on the PGA Tour since August 2015, twice undergoing surgery due to ongoing back problems.

A Night with the Pros'
As you probably all know at the end of January I do a night where I try to teach you all how to improve your golf, and have a bit of fun in the process. The night will involve a nice meal cooked by our resident chef, a quiz, a presentation (where I make you better golfers) and of course the prize draw. Tickets will go on sale soon and will be available in the shop. We are limited to 60 people and it is usually a sell out, so get down to the shop quick to book yourself a spot!
