The New Callaway Epic!
Callaway have released their newest driver of a long list of very impressive clubs, the 'Epic'. We have the new Callaway GBB bertha driver now in for you to try, with all different shafts. We are going to have a smash with it, which we are all thoroughly looking forward to, then you can have a go!
This has been the most talked about driver, producing great numbers. If golfers weren't aware of the product before last week then a certain player's 392 yard drive on the 1st hole at the BMW Open in South Africa (with just the 375 yard carry) would've brought your attention.
If you think you recognise the design, that's because Rory has been hitting it recently to great effect, now that Nike have discontinued their golf hardware.
A lightweight but strong titanium cage is paired with a carbon crown that weighs just 9.7g (their lightest crown ever) to create unprecedented forgiveness. It also features a redesigned track and sliding 17g weight allows you to fit the club to your swing, providing 21 yards of shot-shape correction for more control and distance. There is also a range of shafts from Rogue, Fuji, HZRDUS and Diamana in four weight classes: 70g, 60g, 50g, and 40g. Each premium, Tour-proven shaft is engineered to promote speed, power, stability, feel and control.
This is honestly one of the best drivers we have ever seen, so come and have a go and see how much further it goes than your own!
We have other new clubs coming before the season starts, including a full range from Cobra and a ladies model of the very popular Ping G series.
January Weather
First attention we turn to is the weather. Over the past few days we have experienced the normal British weather with rain, sleet and snow, because of this the course has been closed for the past few days. This hasn't been the greatest start to the season but we are all hoping that it's the last of the bad weather and we can start to enjoy the season.
Rory Beaten in Play-Off
The weather wasn't a problem for the guys in South Africa, whilst we are enduring snow, wind and rain, and even struggling to get a game, the guys in South Africa were playing in glorious 't-shirt weather'.
Rory McIlroy who just lost in a play-off to Graeme Storm has been forced to withdraw from his next competition due to an injury. He actually played with a stress fractured rib, but still managed to tie for the lead, and was only beaten on a play-off by Graeme Storm. Storm has had a brilliant start to the season, after losing his tour card last year by just hundred euros last year, he's bounced back from this and has gone on to win the BMW south Africa open.
In the Sony open Justin Thomas was breaking records as his 59 in first round followed by a 64 led to a record lowest ever 36-hole total. Looking at the results we have an exciting year of golf ahead of us.
A Night with the Professionals
Friday, 27 January. This is a date that must go in your diary.
My evening will consist of a presentation to help make you a better player, a quiz and prize draw. Due to the constraints of the clubhouse the evening is a ticket only event and limited to 60 people and are on sale now. Two lucky people in the room will also win a Skycaddie SW2 watch each!
We look forward to seeing you there.
January SALE
Running through January I have a cost price sale. The sale includes all clothing, shoes, and golf bags. So, if you fancy a bargain come down and have a look at what's in store. Remember its while stocks last, so once it's gone its gone.

Or if you have a social media phobia you can visit my website www.nicksummerfield.co.uk. All are updated daily.
We put out a tweet and a Facebook comment every morning giving course information and availability, this is the quickest and easiest way to keep up to date with what's going on at the club.
Finally, Joe has returned from his one week residential from the PGA at the belfry in Birmingham. This is another step towards completing his three-year course. In the week, he took part in classes such as business, custom fitting, club building and golf coaching. These classes will help him gain experience that will help the members and the guests in the future. We wish him all the best.
