Prestbury Win the Bell Cup

The semi-final was a very close contest between two of Cheshire’s top clubs and it was nip and tuck all the way with wins from Sandiway’s Barbara Laird, Alison Hunt and Sally Brown matched by wins from Prestbury’s Josephine Harrison, Patricia Hunt and Ellen Cail.

Club Competitions

On Saturday, we had the Gentlemen’s Autumn invitation, yes that’s right, Autumn! The competition was in a four ball better ball format. In which we had some decent scores in.

In the 3rd place were Peter Mountford and Martin Massey (Leek) who scored 42 points. In 2nd place were Stephen Cheetham and his guest Malcolm Towns (Duckingfield) with 43 points. However, they were very narrowly beaten by our President and his son Robert Worsley (Turnhouse). Well done Pres on a good father-son victory.

Unfortunately, the ladies competition on Tuesday was cancelled due to heavy rain in the morning, and constant rain for the rest of the day.

Epic Week for Callaway

Callaway Staffer, Haydn Porteous, came from two shots back to win his second European Tour title at the D+D Real Czech Masters, at Albatross Golf Resort in Prague. After a Top 10 finish at Made in Denmark, Porteous topped a leader board that saw four Callaway Staff Professionals finish in the Top 10. He carded six birdies in a final round of 69, including a brace on the first two holes, accompanying rounds of 70, 69 and 67, to claim victory.
