Course news

Course Open!!!!

The beast from the east has finally left us after a bitterly cold couple of weeks, however the course is finally open, and we can get back to playing golf again. The weather has caused continuous problems causing several men’s and ladies competitions to be cancelled and winter league knockouts to be postponed. The green staff have worked very hard over the past few weeks to make the course playable again and most of all safe.

Mickleson goes Rogue

Phil Mickleson ended a long winless draught on the PGA tour by winning the WGC Mexico championship at the weekend. Using the Rogue driver and 3 wood to good effect on the long and testing Mexico City golf club he managed to secure the win in a playoff over fellow countryman and inform Justin Thomas.

Demos on a wide variety of Callaway clubs are available from the pro shop, call into the professional shop for further details.

Grip Promotion

To get you back into the swing of things at the start of the new season we are running our usual start of season promotion on grips.

This is where you can bring your 7-iron in for a re-grip and we will do it completely FREE!

We also have our demo room up and running again for the start of the season, so if you want to try out a new head or a new shaft, or a new club completely FREE, we are ready for all your needs.

Joe’s Residential

Joe has returned from his residential at the Belfry in Birmingham for the PGA course, he spent 5 days away completing important assessments that count towards his course such as club building and a sports science presentation. These activities count towards his final grade for this term that will allow him to move onto his third and final year.

Birthday Lunch

The ladies had a lunch celebrating the 90th birthday of Sheila Bennet on Tuesday afternoon, here she is pictured with the lady captain and her birthday cake.

Finally, we are sad to announce the passing of long time member Ron Kirkham. Ron was a member of Prestbury golf club for 32 years and will be sadly missed, our condolences go out to his family at this time. The funeral service will be held at 10.00am on Wednesday, 21 March 2018 at St Marys Church, Nether Alderley.
