Important news

Our New Era has Begun

Last week you received an email from us asking for your help. It wasn’t anything too onerous or time-consuming; simply sparing 20 seconds of your time to complete your golfing profile.

The reason we’re asking you to do this is so that we can start sending you personalised content that is more relevant to your golfing needs. For example, if you’re a lady golfer with a handicap of 28 then the weekly emails you receive will include ladies product that will be suited to your playing ability. Likewise, if you’re a gentleman off 12, we will begin sending you content that will help you to get your handicap down to the holy grail of single-figure digits.

Thank you to everyone who has already completed their profile and for those of you who haven’t been able to as of yet, please try and do so in the near future.

The Masters

This year we will be running our Master’s Sweepstake again to give you a chance to win some big prize vouchers. The sheet will be in the professional shop so that you can put your names down.

It is £10 per square and once there gone there gone.

This year at the Master’s we are offering money back if either Noren, Mickleson, or Garcia win the tournament.

If you purchase any Callaway clubs between now and the first round of the Master’s and one of those Callaway staff players wins the masters, you will receive the money back as credit on your account.

Tiger Comeback

Tiger was back in action at the weekend in the thick of things coming just short in the Valspar championship. This marked a return to form for Tiger as the build up to the Masters continues. The tournament however was won by English player Paul Casey, this was his 2nd PGA Tour win, his first being in the Shell Houston Open all the way back in 2009.

Competition news

Ladies 3-2-1 Team Event

On Tuesday the ladies had there 3-2-1 team event which featured a brilliant turnout despite the early weather conditions. It was tight between the top 3 with the competition being settled on a countback. With the help of Nicky Markland as a silent partner, Gill Mellor and Lyne Cameron emerged victorious over Caroline Harrison-Croft, Sue Williamson, and Alison Hallworth with both scoring 62 points, which was terrific scoring over just 14 holes. Congratulations to the winners.

One in a Million

Finally, this week was a bitter sweet one in the Summerfield household, unfortunately we lost our eldest dog Lexi to cancer on Friday. She was our first Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla and due to her being one in a million obviously wasn’t our last and the reason we have as many as we do!!! She was a great girl who lived a full life for over 13 years and created many memories.

Then on Sunday Rose was showing our HWV pup at Crufts and managed to get a first in one of her classes so she is now qualified for next year already.

Lexi (pictured on the right) has now joined her daughter Darci (left) over the rainbow bridge.
