Welcome to this week's newsletter. In this edition we recap what was a great week on Tour for Rory Mcllroy, some fantastic shop offers, and we have all the latest news and events from here at Prestbury.
Enjoy the read! |
What a Winter it's Been
The weather once again has taken its toll on the course over the past few days, after heavy snow showers and high winds, the course was forced to close over Sunday and Monday.
I for one hope that is the last we see of the snow, so we can get back to playing competitions.

Finding Form at the Right Time
Rory is back to winning ways after a brilliant last round 64 to take the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This is his first win for some time after not winning on the PGA Tour last year. This result will be a huge confidence boost leading up to the masters in a few weeks’ time.
In the LPGA news, Laura Davies recorded her best result for some time by finishing for a tie in second place in the hope founders cup last week, a brilliant result for the long time professional.

Ladies’ Results
On Tuesday the ladies played the Ferguson Bowl qualifier over 18 holes, a total of 44 ladies played, which is a superb turnout considering the chilling temperatures the ladies had to play in. There where two divisions on the day, the winner of division 1 was Margaret Simons with a great score of 34 points.
The winner of division 2 was Jill Gregory also with a total of 34 points, she just edged out Shirley Osbaldeston in a card playoff for the victory. Congratulations to the two winners. |
Men’s Results
On Saturday the men braved the blizzard conditions to play the 4BBB stableford competition, with winds gusting up to 40 mph and temperatures in the freezing they battled round brilliantly to finish the competition. With eight teams scoring level par or better in those conditions was superb scoring, however the winners with a score of 43 points winning by a point were David Rowley and Edward Pysden. Edward uses a slightly shorter version of the Callaway Rogue driver after speaking to us about his struggles of the tee. With a little advice from us it seems his driving is back on track.

The Masters
Just a reminder of our Master’s Sweepstake that we are running again giving you a chance to win some big prize vouchers. The sheet is in the professional shop so get your names down.
It is £10 per square and once there gone there gone. This year at the Master’s we are offering money back if either Noren, Mickleson, or Garcia win the tournament.
If you purchase any Callaway clubs between now and the first round of the Master’s and one of those Callaway staff players wins the masters, you will receive the money back as credit on your account.
