On the Course... Another busy week of competitions which started off with the Men’s Founders Vase Major, a great turnout for the day with a total of 139 players tackling the tricky conditions. In third place with a nett 68 was young Alexander Howarth who carded a gross 75 off a handicap of 7, he just missed second place to Simon Bolam who carded a nett 67 playing of a handicap of 1. Simon has now reduced his handicap to scratch, a brilliant achievement. A special mention to Sam Burton and Eric Farrer who both managed to bag a hole-in-one on the 10th hole on Saturday's major. Congratulations to you both! The next competition was the Mixed Foursomes Stableford played on Sunday, which again was played in brilliant weather and superb course conditions.
