Competition results
The first competition to go through is the white course stableford played last Saturday, with 83 players taking part over the course of the day. The course recovered well overnight after terrible weather on Thursday and Friday which managed to halt other events such as the ladies open and the Friday night casual. For the scoring we had Josh Garside in third place with 37 points, Phil Singh was next in second place on 39 points, but the winner with a superb score 41 points was Paul Manning.
We also had the yellow course stableford, with some members choosing to play this instead of the whites. Some superb scoring on the yellow course with Phillip Biggs taking third spot with 39 points, Alastair Kennedy grabbed second with 40 points, but the winner who was well clear on a total of 43 points was Tony Wright.
Next was the mixed greensomes on Sunday which had a different feel to it as visit Aberdeenshire had sponsored the competition which meant a boost in prizes such as two longest drives and a nearest to the pin plus a selection of raffle prizes in the evening. In third place was Brian and Jenny Purves with 36 points, Gill Singh and Gordon Tebay took second with 38, but the winners with 41 points were David Smyth and Alison Martin. Both Gill and Mark Mellor took the longest drive prizes while Barbara Newport took the closest to the pin.
Congrats to all the winners this week. |
