Latest Results The first competition we are going to look at is the Ladies Saturday Stableford, we had 6 ladies playing throughout the day with some very good scoring. Caroline Harrison-Croft and Gillian Singh were locked in a tie for second place on 36 points, but the winner was Isobel Wardle who shot a gross 5 under off a handicap of plus 4 to score 37 points and just take the win.
The gents also had a competition on Saturday which was the 2 Division Stableford, with both showing high scoring. In division 2 we had two tied on 39 points which were Brian Leatherbarrow and David Smyth, after a card playoff and winning on the back nine it was David Smyth who took the win. In division 1 we had a 3-man playoff with the same total of 39 points, this was between Martin Prescott, Craig Barker and Charlie Cunningham. After having the best back 9 score of 20 points, Martin Prescott came out as the winner.
The last competition of the week was the Ladies Quad-Am, 4 player teams with 13 teams taking part. With a total of 80 points we had the team of Kim Mortimer, Cristine Shuttleworth, Janet Taylorson and Barbara Newport who took second place. They were just beaten by Victoria Howarth, Caroline Harrison-Croft, Margaret Woof and Margaret Wood who had 82 points. The winning team of Lisa Aitchison, Gillian Mellor, Jenny Purves and Cath Halpin were streaks ahead with a total score of 90 points.

Sign Up to Golf Genius
We will be running our Order of Merit throughout the winter months this year once again. However, you will need to register with Golf Genius in order to do so. You should’ve received an email from the golf club with a link to set up. The Winter League Order of Merit competitions will be paid on the day with cash instead of the HowDidiDo booking.

Clocks Change
The clocks will go back this Sunday which marks the end of the season, this means that the members reserved times will change. The members tee will be up to 9.30 and then again from 11am to 1.30pm. |

Fireworks Night
We have the golf club bonfire and fireworks evening coming up, it will be held on the 2nd November with the bonfire being lit at 5.30 and fireworks to commence at 7.00pm.
Adult tickets (15 & over) will be £10 with children and juniors’ tickets at £5, these can be purchased in the office and must be brought on the evening.

Rules Evening
We will be holding our rules evening for the new upcoming rules for the 2019 season.
Tickets are now on sale and will be sold in the professional shop and will cost £5. There will be food provided on the evening with a small quiz as well, just to keep you on your toes!

A Fond Farewell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stuart Taylor, he was a past Captain of the golf club and a VP. Stuart was just 68 years old and had been a member of the golf club for 51 years. Thoughts go out to his friends and family at this sad time, details of the funeral service will be advised once known.

Sutton Gamekeeper
Just a note to congratulate Alastair and the Sutton Gamekeeper on their award last week. They managed to scoop the North of England pub award, this was against a number of pubs all over the UK.
Congratulations to James, Jane, Alastair and all of the team at the Gamekeeper.
