Dora Hill Major Medal On Tuesday the ladies played the Dora Hill Major Medal trophy in beautiful conditions with the course again looking stunning. A nice packed field as well with 54 ladies all going for the trophy.
In third place with a nett score of 72 was Lisa Aitchison, she was just beaten by Jean Duncan and Lynne Cameron who both finished with a nett 70 so had to be decided with a card playoff. It was Jean Duncan who came out the winner pipping Lynne by just half a shot.

Bel Wardle
It has been another great week for Bel with the successful defence of the Lady’s County Championship title which was played at Royal Liverpool golf club. The first day saw a 36-hole stroke-play qualifier for the match-play stages and the reigning county champion Prestbury, Cheshire and England star Bel Wardle showed her intent of keeping her title with rounds of 71 and 73.
This left her 14 shots clear of the field, dropped her handicap to +6 and won her three trophies – the Doris Brown Trophy as the top qualifier, the Intermediate champion, and the Millennium Trophy for the best Intermediate score over the first 18 holes.
Then it was down to two rounds of match-play on day two for the top 16 qualifiers with the winning eight going through to the quarter-finals and then the semi-finals and the other eight first round losers playing for the Sir William Bailey Cup. Reaching the semi-finals for the final day were Bel Wardle, playing former champion Lucy Jamieson (Heswall) and Poppy Finlay (Sandiway) taking on Lauren Jones (Mellor and Townscliffe). Bel had a close contest in her semi-final with a one-hole win over Lucy, who caddied for Bel in the final and Poppy eased to a 7/5 win over Lauren.
The final saw Poppy and Bel match scores for the opening holes before Bel had a burst of birdies on holes 6, 8 and 9 to take the lead and despite Poppy’s best efforts she could not prevent Bel prevailing by 4/3 to retain her title with some impeccable golf.

The hottest picks this summer |
Is it just us or has this year's clothing been the best we've had in-store for a few years now? Either way, there's no doubting that you'll be looking (and feeling) great on and off the course throughout the summer with some of these fantastic picks... |
| Sonoran polo | We had to include the Sonoran polo as one of our top picks this season and it's not hard to see why. Boasting a clean, fresh look, the crease-resistant fabric will ensure you are always kept in tip-top condition.
|
| Douglas polo | If a traditional look is more your style, then you can’t go wrong with PING's Douglas polo. This is the ideal top that is perfect for wear on and off the course, whilst offering the perfect fit thanks to its stretch properties.
|
| Fracture pullover | Our final pick is the pullover that really has the lot: Fracture. Both of the stunning colourways will ensure all eyes are on you, whilst its lightweight material drapes over you for complete comfort.
