Last Tuesday 4th November the ladies took part in a five club chicken run. This was the last presentation of the season but was a non-qualifier. There were 51 entrants in this competition and some good scorers amongst them. A few ladies around the prizes managed 38 points. In division 2 Margaret Simons was the runner-up with 38 points and was only beaten by a card count back by Sue Williamson, who took 1st place in division 2. In division 1 Lynne Dicken came in 2nd place, also scoring 38 points. However, 2 shots ahead with a great score of 40 points was Jean Duncan. Jean won division 1 as well as being the overall winner. There was no men's competition this weekend due to the shocking weather we received on Friday and Saturday.
This week is going to be the first of our 9 disciplines.
This week's drill will be the cut lob:
Over the next couple of months, each week we will give you a different short game exercise to help you improve your scoring. Each exercise will be short and sweet and designed to help your short game. These drills are designed to help you score better, so try to do them as you would on the course. What we mean by this is don't just hit ball after ball. Between each shot make sure you stand away from the ball and think about what you are going to try and achieve with your next shot. Maybe even hitting some long shots between to try and recreate what it would be like in the course. These drills will not help you improve unless you have the discipline to do them properly.
Use 10 balls so the drill doesn't take too long and doesn't take up too much of your time. Keep a diary to keep your scores and do the drill 2 or 3 times throughout the week and see if your scores improve.
