Night Golf
Have you ever fancied playing golf in the middle of the night? Or struggle to find time play in the week because of how early it goes dark? Well now is your chance to tackle these problems as we are holding a night golf event! On 11th December we have hired a group of guys to come down and light up the golf course after dark. It's going to be a great bit of fun playing with a glow in the dark ball and having light placed around 6 holes of the course. The event cost 30 pounds a head which includes supper, prizes and a free gift for everybody.
There are only limited spaces so if you fancy it get down to the pro shop as soon as possible to book your place.
This week is going to be the second of our 9 disciplines. Over the next couple of months, each week we will give you a different short game exercise to help you improve your scoring. Each exercise will be short and sweet and designed to help your short game. These drills are designed to help you score better, so try to do them as you would on the course. What we mean by this is don't just hit ball after ball. Between each shot make sure you stand away from the ball and think about what you are going to try and achieve with your next shot. Maybe even hitting some long shots between to try and recreate what it would be like in the course. These drills will not help you improve unless you have the discipline to do them properly. Use 10 balls so the drill doesn't take too long and doesn't take up too much of your time. Keep a diary to keep your scores and do the drill 2 or 3 times throughout the week and see if your scores improve.
Race to Dubai
This week sees the final event of the season. Rory McIlroy has already wrapped up this year's Race to Dubai, but Stenson is second on the money list and he is now seeking to successfully defend a title for the first time in his career. McIlroy, 25, also added another record to his collection as he became the youngest player in history to capture the Harry Vardon Trophy twice having claimed his first in 2012. Our own Jamie Donaldson is currently in third place but it is currently very close between 2nd to 7th places, so depending on how he plays he could end up being over taken by the likes of Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose in the race for 2nd place. Let's hope Jamie can have good end of season tournament and finish in the top 3.
Movemeber
As some of you may have noticed my movember moustache is starting to get pretty big (and pretty irritating). I have just over 1 week to go until it gets shaved off and all the money raised goes to the help our hero's charity and it couldn't come soon enough. If you want to make a donation, it would be much appreciated, just visit www.bmycharity.com/nicksummerfield to make donations.
