On Saturday we had a men's four ball better ball played as a 9am shotgun. We had some good scorers this week with many of you breaking 40 points. In the 3rd place were Mike Forbes and Bill Seddon who managed to make a very good 44 points. This however was just beaten by a card count-back by Nick Wood and Fred Bridge. But the winners of the competition with 45 points and winning by shot were Jeff Speake and Mike Murray. Well done to all our winners last week's competition.
Night Golf
Have you ever fancied playing golf in the middle of the night? Or struggle to find time play in the week because of how early it goes dark? Well now is your chance to tackle these problems as we are holding a night golf event! On 11th December we have hired a group of guys to come down and light up the golf course after dark. It's going to be a great bit of fun playing with a glow in the dark ball and having light placed around 6 holes of the course. The event cost 30 pounds a head which includes supper, prizes and a free gift for everybody. There are only limited spaces so if you fancy it get down to the pro shop as soon as possible to book your place.
This week's exercise is the fairway pitch from 15 yards:
This week is going to be the third of our 9 disciplines. Over the next couple of months, each week we will give you a different short game exercise to help you improve your scoring. Each exercise will be short and sweet and designed to help your short game. These drills are designed to help you score better, so try to do them as you would on the course. What we mean by this is don't just hit ball after ball. Between each shot make sure you stand away from the ball and think about what you are going to try and achieve with your next shot. Maybe even hitting some long shots between to try and recreate what it would be like in the course. These drills will not help you improve unless you have the discipline to do them properly. Use 10 balls so the drill doesn't take too long and doesn't take up too much of your time. Keep a diary to keep your scores and do the drill 2 or 3 times throughout the week and see if your scores improve.

Finally this week our new Lady Captain and Lady President have been decided. The new Lady Captain will be Shirley Davis and Sue Bolam will be the new Lady President. We would like to thank Liz Dunkley and Janet Taylorson who filled the roles over the last 12 months in what has been a great year here at Prestbury. And I'm sure along with they wish our new Lady Captain and Lady President lots of luck in their new role in the club.
