Fitting Days

We have a couple of exciting dates for you to book in your calendar.

Reps are going to be coming down from Cobra and Callaway to allow you to have a go with some of the best and newest golfing equipment available.

You don't have to spend any money, all we ask is you come and have a go!!

There will be a selection of FREE prizes given to anyone who books an appointment. The equipment you will be trialling WILL add yards, and you may get a tip or two off one of the reps, so almost like a FREE lesson!!

Cobra Fitting Day - 6th May, 1-5pm

Callaway Fitting Day - 13th May, 1-5pm

Please click here to book your time slot or come in and see me in store.

Some of the hardware available to use on the day will be:

Cobra Fly-Z Driver

The Fly-Z Driver is engineered to deliver the ultimate blend of maximum distance and increased forgiveness. Cobra's newest driver is about as good as they come. If you have a go with this driver you will reach numbers you didn't think were possible. It is not uncommon for someone to hit this 20 yards further than the driver they are currently using. It also offers extreme forgiveness on off-centre hits and excellent distance across the entire face, so therefore perfect for any standard to golfer.

Cobra Fly-Z Irons

The Fly-Z Irons provide brilliant distance, with forgiveness, feel and control. They are delivered in a classic head shape for superior confidence in every shot. It minimizes face thickness for a more pronounced flex and recovery on impact. This enhanced trampoline effect increases ball speeds across the face to deliver greater distance without sacrificing feel. To keep the feel they are placed with an engineered insert right behind the impact zone to damp vibrations and ensure greater feel.

Callaway XR Driver

The XR Driver is built for outrageous speed. To reduce drag and maximize speed through the swing, there is a Speed Step Crown combined with an optimized aerodynamic head shape. Everything about this driver is optimized for aero efficiency, which is critical to add speed with less drag. Technology allows for a thinner face, over an even larger area of the face, for maximum ball speeds. If you want speed, this is the driver for you!

Callaway XR Irons

The XR Irons are the first high speed, cavity back, cup-face iron. The improved face cup technology provides outrageous ball speed all across the face. It feels like it is almost pre-programmed to go high and straight, with easy altitude throughout the set and no issues in the rough. Eye-opening length-for many testers, the XR iron plays at least half a club beyond what they're currently carrying; a few guys say that misses with the XR fly farther than many irons' good shots.

These are just a few of the clubs that will be available to use on the demo days. The full range of the Fly-Z and XR's will be available as well as the Big Bertha range and other wedges and putters that Callaway and Cobra provide.

It's going to be a fun couple of days so make sure you book now!!

Last Tuesday 21st April the ladies took part in a Stableford competition. An impressive 62 ladies took part in the competition and split into two divisions. In division 1 Jo Harrison managed to get 36 points which was enough for 2nd place, this was just bettered by Alex Forbes who won division 1 with 37 points, so well done Alex on a very good score. Division 2 had some even better scores. Pat Harmston managed a very impressive 38 points which was only good enough to finish runner-up as Elaine McLean managed a fantastic 39 points to win Division 2 as well as being the over-all winner!

The day after on the Wednesday the men took part in a mid-week Stableford where some good scores were made. Richard Johnson and Mags Serafi both beat their handicap to come in with 37 points which was only good enough for joint 3rd place. A further 2 shots ahead with 39 points was Terry Cross who's impressive score was only good enough to get beaten on a card count-back by overall winner Peter Atherton! Very well done to Peter on a great score.

The Following Saturday we had a father and son event, this was a lot of fun and was structured in a Greensome format. Alan and Mike Perry came 3rd with 38 points and were narrowly beaten by Ian and Andy Smith who scored 39 points to finish the competitions runner-up. However, miles ahead with an almost unbelievable 47 points were Eric and Daniel Farrer. Somebodies handicap might be in for review after a score like that! Congratulations to all the winners in last week's comps, it was a great week!!

WGC Match Play

The 17th edition of the World Golf Championships match play tournament started on Wednesday may as well be the first. There's a new format, new venue, new buzz and new sponsor. All of which was welcomed as players arrived Monday for the WGC-Cadillac Match Play at tree-lined TPC Harding Park, near the San Francisco Zoo, an appropriate setting since this week is going to be a very different animal for the players. This is no longer one and done, go home and take the TV ratings with you, like in 2011 and 2013 when Tiger Woods lost in the first round, or in 2002 when Nos. 1-2-3 were all dispatched on the first day. This year every player will play three matches as the 64 are grouped into 16 pods of four players apiece, with the winner of each pod advancing to play Saturday morning. That means world No. 1 and four-time major winner Rory McIlroy will play at least three days. As will reigning Masters champion Jordan Spieth. "The old format of straight knockout was a bit harsh," Graeme McDowell said. "This is an interesting format. Even if you lose one you have something to play for. And even if you win the first two you have something to play for".

Motocaddy S7 Remote

New in the shop!!

The first remote control model in the Motocaddy range boasts one of the trolley sector's most sophisticated guidance systems, utilising two motors to provide a combination of power and precision, plus an anti-tip wheel to ensure stability on the most challenging golf course terrains.

Based on the same frame design as the award-winning S-Series range, it comes with a control system that allows golfers to adjust how much the trolley turns to the left or right simply by varying the pressure applied to buttons on the handset. An innovative tilt function helps compensate for the effect of lateral slopes, while the advanced electronics also make it possible to switch from remote to manual control if required.
