Trip to Formby
On Tuesday this week I played in in the Lombard PGA National Pro-Am at Formby. As a result of winning a qualifier, a month or so ago, Tom Kirk was my partner. It was a lovely day and we both had great time but unfortunately finished in the pack. The winners got the grand prize of playing in a National Pro-Am at Gleneagles, not a bad prize at all, so we wish them all the best of luck.
Motocaddy S7 Remote
New in the shop!!
The first remote control model in the Motocaddy range boasts one of the trolley sector's most sophisticated guidance systems, utilising two motors to provide a combination of power and precision, plus an anti-tip wheel to ensure stability on the most challenging golf course terrains.
Based on the same frame design as the award-winning S-Series range, it comes with a control system that allows golfers to adjust how much the trolley turns to the left or right simply by varying the pressure applied to buttons on the handset. An innovative tilt function helps compensate for the effect of lateral slopes, while the advanced electronics also make it possible to switch from remote to manual control if required.
Fitting Days
Due to the success of our recent club fitting we are going to hold one using all our fitting kit and launch monitor. Our own fitting day will involve all the kit we've got in the shop so all the best from Cobra, Nike, Callaway, PING, Wilson Staff and Lynx. So rather than just getting the best from 1 brand you'll get the best from a few, and find out truly what clubs best suit you.
You don't have to spend any money, all we ask is you show up on the day!
The 2 dates to put in your calendar are:
Friday 19th June - 1pm-5pm
Saturday 13th June - 1pm-4pm
The spaces for our last couple of fitting days filled up fast so be sure to book in early through the pro shop!!
US Open
Luke Donald gave himself a much-needed confidence boost as he came through qualifying for the US Open in Florida.
The former world No 1 was forced to go through the qualifying process having fallen to 66th in the world rankings, and struggled early on at the Bears Club in Jupiter as he posted a level-par 72.
But Donald found his rhythm in the afternoon and secured his place in the field at Chambers Bay with an excellent 68, featuring seven birdies and three bogeys that saw him finish joint top of the leader board along with Andrew Pope and amateur Jack Maguire.
