Ladies Captains Day

Last Tuesday 23rd the ladies took part in their Lady Captain's Day. 69 ladies took part, a great turn out for a Tuesday competition over all 18 holes. 

We had a selection of different prizes given out; the nearest the pin on the 7th was won by Mary Weaver, the putting competition was won by Linda Buckley, who just beat Sheila Earl and Carol Hulme on a card play-off, all on 15 putts. 

We had a competition for the ladies with handicaps from 31-36. This was won by Sheila Baxter after edging out Coral Riley on a card play-off. The lowest gross was scored by Gill Mellor with a fantastic score of 76. Then there was the main prize, Hannah Li came second with a very respectable nett 74, but way out in front and taking home the Lady Captain's prize was Elaine McLean with a great score of 70. 

Mens Stableford

On Saturday 27th June, the gents played in a normal Stableford competition. In Division 1 George Payne, Josh Garside and Joe Armitt all scored 38 points to come joint 2nd and were all narrowly beaten by Nick Baglin who scored a very good 39 points to win Division 1. 

In Division 2 Tony McGuiness also scored 38 points to come 2nd in Division 2 but way out ahead with 41 points and the overall winner was Jonathan Salam. Well done to all our winners in last week's competitions.
